EOL IT Services help Colchester YES meet its increased demands - BITC.org.uk

EOL IT Services of Maldon, Essex have again come to the aid of the Colchester Youth Enquiry Service (YES), by donating a refurbished PC and flat screen monitor to the organisation.

Colchester YES was established 20 years ago to meet a gap identified by GPs and other health care professionals concerned with the well-being of children and young people in the Colchester area. The organisation's key services are counselling, crisis intervention and counselling and advice in areas such as homelessness and benefits, also providing advice and support for parents, both pre and post natal.

ProHelp scheme

Colchester YES had previously benefited from the Business in the Community’s (BITC) ProHelp scheme whereby member businesses of the Colchester ProHelp Group had helped the charity with re-branding its logo and the redesign of its website, along with advice for reconfiguring its IT requirements and the provision of the legal help required moving to new premises. EOL IT Services had also previously denoted a PC to replace one that had literally ‘gone up in smoke’.

On this occasion, the charity contacted BITC’s Essex Area Manager Russ Cottee, to see whether they could be supplied with an additional PC to help them meet increased demands on their services, especially in the area of counselling, which has seen a marked growth in recent months.

Awards for Excellence

Russ approached EOL IT Services of Maldon, Essex, who were only too pleased to help Colchester YES. EOL IT Services have recently become BITC members, having won a Big Tick award in 2006 and re-accreditation in 2007 for their environmental policies in the realm of refurbishment and recycling of IT equipment. Business in the Community's Awards for Excellence are the UK's leading award scheme for responsible business. EOL ensures that the IT kit or components are re-used, so as to avoid landfill. EOL have recently expanded their IT portfolio to include new installations of systems and networks.
