EOL is recognised for its Eco-Efficieny - Yellow Advertiser
A MALDON company which recycles redundant computers has kept the accolade it was awarded by Business in the Community (BITC) last year, marking its eco-efficiency.
This recognition for its comprehensive and innovative approach to reducing waste, puts End-O-Line (EOL) in the company of major brands like Boots, Fords and Toyota.
Chairman Jan Smith will pick up the award at a gala dinner in Kings College, Cambridge on June 26.
EOL was started by Jan Smith virtually on her kitchen table at home in Maldon.
After several years of selling computers, she realised that the real need was for a system to dispose of them responsible.
Now the firm has become one of the UK’s foremost independent IT asset disposal companies with a zero landfill policy, and employs 49 staff.
Jim Haywood, BITC’s director of business in the environment said: “EOL not only refurbishes, resells and recycles IT waste, but uses second hand IT equipment and offers free and discounted equipment to schools and charities.”
