Another Award Double For EOLS

Staff at top computer recycling company End-O-Line (EOLS) are running out of wall space after winning another clutch of business awards.

The Maldon-based company has for the second successive year won both the Environmental Awareness and Business to Business sections at the Mid Essex Awards ceremony.

That means that office staff at the company headquarters in Station Road, Maldon have been shuffling all the award certificates won in the past. The winners’ plaques already decorate a large area of the reception area’s walls.

Also for the second year EOLS was the only company to win two separate awards in the Mid Essex industry competition. Judges were highly impressed by EOLS’ rapid and continued growth since its foundation by Chairman Jan Smith as well as with the positive impact its work practices have on environmental protection.

With many Blue Chip companies and top financial firms among its client base, EOLS has become the UK’s foremost independent IT asset disposal company. It operates a zero landfill policy for the 5,000 pieces of IT equipment it handles each week. Its Blue Chip clients include global banks and financial institutions.

After all data is erased, 50% of the computer equipment is resold and 40% is given a new lease of life as components. The remaining 10% is passed to other recycling companies to use in an environmentally-responsible way.
This green approach to business recently helped EOLS to being named as a “Big Tick” Winner in the Environmental Impact section of the Business in the Community (BITC) annual awards.

Jan Smith, who is also the current Essex Business Woman of the Year, said of the Mid Essex Awards wins: “Although our service supports national and globally-recognised businesses, as an Essex company through and through, it is most pleasing that, once again, we are being recognised as a successful company within our own county. To win two awards again this year is even better.”
