Press Release

Jan is a Step Away from
National Recognition

The woman who started a successful business at her kitchen table with a £20 investment could be on the way to adding a new diamond to her business crown.

With top regional business titles already under her belt, Jan Smith of EOL IT Services has proved she has got what it takes to succeed at a national level.

She has been chosen as one of the finalists in the prestigious Everywoman Awards sponsored by NatWest.

Jan originally launched her IT recycling company 11 years ago under the name of End-O-Line. She is Chairman of the company now operating under the EOL IT Services banner.

The company based in Maldon, Essex, has this month announced substantial expansion plans, offering a wider range of services covering the life of IT equipment from start to finish.

Jan’s business acumen has catapulted her into the Everywoman Awards Hera category which highlights the inspirational efforts of businesswomen over 50.

Having already withstood a grilling from a panel of judges Jan will find out at an awards dinner on December 5 if she is a winner.

If Jan makes it to the top she will be in the excellent company of high profile businesswomen including Mary Perkins of Specsavers, Carole Nash of Carole Nash Insurance and Lady Harriet Bridgeman of Bridgeman Art Library.

The summary of the reasons why Jan has already made it this far out of hundreds of entrants from all over the UK says: “It is no surprise that EOL has won The BigTick Business in the Community Eco-efficiency Category Award and that it maintains a high level of customer service.”

Jan has already been crowned Entrepreneur of the Year by the East Anglian Daily Times and Business Woman of the Year by Newsquest.

Jan remains Chairman of the company which is currently undergoing substantial expansion and she has also launched several other business ventures including an award-winning day nursery in Danbury, Essex.

Jan said: “I am particularly delighted that it is my inspirational efforts which have contributed to this opportunity. l have always been passionate about supporting others who set out to make it on their own in the business world.”
