EOL are pleased to announce that they have appointed Daniel Smith as Managing Director. With over 20 years of enterprise experience, Smith has joined EOL IT Services with an objective to ensure the business continues to meet the new requirements imposed upon the IT industry through the arrival of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
Formally Global Head of Sales at Blancco, where he continued to drive the business forward during their acquisition by the Regenersis Group into a PLC environment, Smith also served as a Board Member of the newly formed Blancco Technology Group and brings extensive experience of Environmental and Security legislation with him into EOL IT Services.
Smith is a recognised industry adviser on the upcoming impact of GDPR on businesses and believes that the future of the IT Asset Disposal industry will see a decline in uncertified providers as corporate businesses are forced into taking responsibility of how they dispose of their critical data assets.
The opportunity that lies ahead for Smith and EOL IT Services, and for other Enterprise level ITADs, is being capable of demonstrating compliance to industry accreditations and provide organisations absolute assurance with fully auditable recycling and data destruction processes should they ever be called into question by the ICO.
Daniel Smith, Managing Director, EOL IT Services comments
“As the introduction of GDPR draws close, it is incumbent for IT asset disposal providers to meet the increasing industry legislation and customer expectations of the next generation. IT Asset Disposal providers will need to demonstrate more security, audibility and professionalism when recycling IT equipment. I am excited about the future as EOL is extremely well positioned for the arrival of GDPR through its high level of accreditations and certifications.”
